"The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday"

JESS HARRAWAY:

Every child has a story. To truly support and assist a child for the future it is important to understand a child’s past. To allow a child to open up it is vital they have trust and a good positive relationship with their mentor. I strongly believe that every child deserves to have their voice no matter their background or social economic status. Mentoring allows me to use my skills and knowledge to support and assist vulnerable children within society, developing their aspirations in education as well as personal development and goals.

I am an Education and Sociology graduate meaning I have exceptional knowledge and understanding of working with children of all ages and abilities, as well as the different backgrounds and cultures within society. I have volunteered over the past five years in many state, independent and special educational need schools and colleges.  In addition, I have spent 10 months on-board a cruise ship as a youth staff intensely working with children daily.  This has allowed me to gain experience working with a vast amount of children from all age phases as well as some of the most vulnerable children in society.
