"EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE SOMEONE THEY CAN TALK TO FOR SUPPORT, HOWEVER THAT PERSON IS IN YOUR LIFE"

MY STORY: Laura Coombs
I have been working with young people for 10 yrs. I initially started as a Hockey and Tennis coach, through to disability coaching, Nannying in Australia and then working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school. This is where I found out that I have a real passion for working with young people who need support, guidance and ultimately someone who cares. There is no greater reward than seeing a young person progress on the right path through difficult times.

ROLE HERO: My school PE teacher
My role model is more close to home than any celebrity – My role model would have to be my high school PE teacher. She encouraged and inspired me to be the best I could be! The reason I love to work with young people is from her positive outlook on making a difference.

MY HIGHLIGHTS: Laura Coombs

My highlight with many young people is exposing them to new environments, activities and ways of life they wouldn’t experience without Impact Mentoring. One of my young people has never seen the Suspension bridge, gone swimming or played crazy golf. There are so many young people who haven’t had the opportunity to try new things and the enjoyment on their faces brings a really satisfying feeling. It’s the small things that have the biggest effect.
