Commissioner Experience

Our aim is to make it as simple as possible for young people to get support from impact Mentoring. It’s well documented, that the sooner we can start the mentoring process and engage with the young person the sooner we can start to impact on the issues they are facing and increase the likelihood of a positive outcome.
From the point of referral to the start of mentoring and throughout the mentoring process our team will work with our commissioners to streamline the process. We have one set up form and a set up meeting, which can be done at our site, school, home, or a place of choosing to make the young person feel at ease. From here the mentoring can begin.
Our Admin team will provide any policies and documentation that you require for quality assurance purposes.
Members of our lead team are always happy to support in answering any queries in person, over the phone or via email. We welcome everyone who wish to visit our centre, taking great pride in showing people around and explaining our approach in supporting young people.
We believe that our relationships with the organisations who refer people to us is second to none. We are always ready to listen, collaborate and improve. This is achieved through professional cooperation and honesty. We are clear about what we can do: and equally clear about what may be tricky for us to deliver. We work towards the goals our commissioners set and send weekly reports on progress. Members of the Lead team are always available to review and make plans which includes attending multi agency meetings. We can compile reports for EHCP planning and our flexibility means that we can often be useful at seeing ‘the best version’ of young people.
What you can expect from us:
- There will always be someone on the end of the phone to help with your query.
- You will receive a session report for every mentoring session we carry out with your young people within the week of the session.
- We will work towards the goals that you set us for your young people; and re-negotiate them with you if we feel they need to be updated.
- We will visit every young person in their home prior to working with them so that they and their families know exactly what mentoring will be like.
- We will be honest about what we can and cannot do with any referral you send us.
- We will work with you as circumstances change to be as flexible as we can whilst remaining an important constant in a young person’s life.
- All of our mentors undergo thorough training including Safeguarding (to L2), ACES and the Prevent strategy
What we would like from you:
- Complete a referral form in as much detail as possible to help us choose the right mentor for the young person, and plan the most appropriate activities
- Let us have a Purchase Order Number in advance of the mentoring beginning for the work you are commissioning
- Keep us updated on any changes in the young person’s life which might impact on mentoring
- Give us advance notice of the mentoring placement coming to an end so that we can finish it sensitively and appropriately.
