One to One Mentoring
A mentor may be defined as ‘an experienced and trusted advisor’. At Impact we know that trust is central to self-belief and progress. This means that we promote 1:1 mentoring as a foundation to positive change. Our mentors are chosen for their passion to help young people and their inter-personal skills, Beyond that a range of qualifications and experiences gives us a diverse and driven team. 1:1 mentoring can be transformational and gives young people a listening ear, access to support, guidance and wisdom whilst enjoying themselves. This is our prescription for aspiration!

Learning Programmes
Working within a structure, and experiencing progress towards learning goals, is an important part of life. Our learning programmes meet our mentees at their current level of confidence and aptitude and then move them forwards; collecting evidence and completing challenges along the way. We offer a number of pre-vocational courses linked to ASDAN short-course accreditation. One Credit may be achieved in 10 sessions whereas a 6 Credit award may take a year as part of a combined package.
Tutoring
Our tutoring team support the development of English and Maths skills and re-engage students in their learning. This can be through bespoke project-based work functional skills or using the materials and platforms provided by the commissioning partner. Our tutors all mentor, and so they can provide an appropriately stretching learning environment with flexibility and real–world experiences included. Tutoring is often included alongside mentoring in a support package. From September 2021 we will be offering NCFE Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Post-16 Provision
Many young adults may not be ready to take the leap towards a college course, vocational training or employment. We now put together packages to build confidence and resilience for post-16 students who would benefit from our approach. Packages can include mentoring, ASDAN short-courses, NCFE qualifications and Functional English and Maths. The nurturing environment of our HQ, plus tutoring and learning programmes, can be a solid stepping–stone. We signpost and network to find additional opportunities for work and volunteering experiences to enrich this offer.

What Our Families are Saying
We would like to thank Impact for all the support you have given our family through a difficult time. We feel like our son has a future now and that’s amazing. I dread to think where we would be if his mentor hadn’t been able to support him
Thank you all so much for referring Impact Mentoring to meet with me. After we discussed the situation, they explained PTSD to me and how to handle S in a more effective way. As a result, I have already seen an improvement in how he responds. What he discussed has given me a way to focus on how to deal with situations and so I am keeping my fingers crossed I can now make a breakthrough with him.
Impact mentoring have done so much for me and my family, I’m really grateful! Being able to get out more, doing things like going to the gym and playing golf, helped me to be so much more confident in myself and without that help, I don’t think I would have got through my GCSE’s the way I did. They have helped my brothers too – thanks guys.
J says that she really doesn’t like school, but Impact Mentoring makes her want to come to school.
I have nothing but praise and admiration for the professionalism and excellent approach shown by your mentors. They were fantastic with D, and I was very impressed with the Impact programme.
